Women Who Run With the Wolves
First Chapter: La Loba

Sunday, March 30 2025, 11:30am MST

In this session, we begin our deep dive into Chapter 1 of Women Who Run with the Wolves, where Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés introduces the archetype of the Wild Woman and her role as an instinctual, soulful force within the feminine psyche. Together, we’ll explore what it means to reclaim our intuitive nature, why this reclamation matters in a modern world, and how the Wild Woman lives within each of us—often buried beneath years of conditioning, silence, or self-doubt.

Reflection Questions

First Chapter: La Loba

  1. What “bones” have you been called to gather in your own life?
    – Are there parts of your creative, emotional, or instinctual self that you have lost touch with or buried?

  2. La Loba sings the bones back to life. What helps you remember who you truly are?
    – Is there a practice, memory, or relationship that reconnects you to your wild, authentic self?

  3. What does the phrase “the one who knows” mean to you?
    – Have you ever had an experience of deep inner knowing or intuition that felt ancestral or instinctual?

  4. In what ways have you been cut off from your inner wildness?
    – Was it through cultural expectations, trauma, over-responsibility, or simply forgetting?

  5. What fears arise when you consider retrieving and reviving your wild self?
    – What would it cost to reclaim her—and what would it cost not to?

  6. La Loba works in solitude and sacred space. How do you create space to do your soul work?
    – Are you giving yourself enough quiet, creative, or reflective time to “sing over your bones”?

  7. What does “coming back to life” look like for you in this season of your life?
    – Is there something ready to rise again?
