Upcoming Seminar
Hormones, Stress, & the Brain
SATURDAY, APRIL 4, 2026
7:30 PM MST - ONLINE
Hormones quietly shape much of our lived experience, such as our energy, mood, sleep, stress response, and even how safe or overwhelmed we feel in the world. Yet most of us rarely pause to consider the complex biological conversation unfolding between the brain and body each day.
In this SoundMindScience seminar, we will explore the role of hormones as messengers within the nervous system and endocrine system. We will look at how hormonal signaling helps the body adapt to changing conditions, how stress influences hormone regulation, and how these processes can impact emotional and cognitive well-being.
Rather than approaching hormones from a place of control or optimization, this session invites a deeper understanding of the body as an adaptive system responding to its environment. We will discuss the stress response, the interaction between hormones and key brain regions involved in regulation and perception, and the ways inflammation, recovery, and daily rhythms influence hormonal balance.
These seminars are educational in nature and are not intended to diagnose or treat medical conditions. The goal is to offer a research-informed perspective on the biological systems that support resilience, learning, and well-being.
This lecture is part of the monthly SoundMindScience LIVE seminar series, designed for real nervous systems, real lives, and real healing. It is offered as a free, live online lecture in the spirit of public scholarship and accessible education.
